Kugel und Niere is a new Munich based company producing fresh podcasts and exciting audio stories.
The Name Kugel and Niere relates to the shapes of microphones – sphere and cardioid. The five founders are developing and producing new podcast formats and exciting audio stories for their clients. Their first podcast “Der Moment” was a commissioned production for Audible. It tells stories about the biggest adventures in life – stories of fame and jeopardy, of rise and fall. All 24 Episodes tell stories about THE moment that completely changed the life of people. For example the story of Lukas, who becomes an art thief by accident. Or about the “Frikis”, punks from Cuba who try everything to escape the country. More podcasts are in the making.
The founders reached out to us asking to develop the brand and visual identity for their business. It was important to keep the identity neutral and adaptable for different podcasts formats and topics, yet bold and highly recognizable, both online and offline. We came up with a typographic and flexible identity, using a bold and wide typeface.
The new identity is using a bold and self-confident typeface that adapts flexible to different media formats.
The three parts of the logo can adapt to various page or screen formats – “Kugel” is always aligned to the top left corner, “Niere” is always aligned to the bottom right corner. The “Und” always changes its position, depending on the format and the content. With this strict system, the branding can be adapted to different formats and topics but can still be recognizable.
